DESCRIPTION: Public speaking strikes fear into the hearts of many - maybe it's happened to you. You've been asked to speak in public about your organization and you have no clue where to begin. Even if you could find a clue, you can't imagine actually putting yourself into such an intimidating position!    In Part One of this two-part series, you'll begin to learn the nuts and bolts of public speaking, including:      Great beginnings and happy endings   How to face your fears   What you need to know to be effective when you speak    In Part Two, we'll continue the discussion with more tips that will help you feel more comfortable the next time someone invites you to speak in public. We'll also learn how you can use your new skills to benefit your organization. Topics in Part Two will include:      How to organize what you'll talk about   10 tips for successful public speaking   How to put your newfound knowledge to work for your library    This workshop series will improve your comfort level with public speaking and will help you find the confidence you didn't even know you had.
