Enrollment in online classes is increasing. How can librarians provide the same quality of support for online students as we offer to face-to-face classes and in our campus libraries? By becoming “embedded” in online classes, through the learning management system, librarians can provide information literacy instruction, reference and research help and support, and guides to resources. Most importantly, embedded librarians help create a positive, lasting relationship between the online student and the library that will help the student succeed throughout their academic career.
This webinar will explore:
- The philosophy and objectives of being an embedded librarian
- Tips for working with faculty and gaining buy-in
- Methods and strategies for reaching online students
- Assessment and evaluation of your efforts
