PLAN Digitization Conference: Preserving the Past for the Future

Join us August 13-14, 2015 for PLAN’s Innovation Conference. The theme is Digitization: Preserving the Past for the Future. The conference will be held at Florida State University’s Panama City Campus. If your library or organization is currently involved with digitization or planning the digitization of photos, historical records, audios, or moving images, this conference will provide both basic and advanced learning opportunities. Keynote speakers will address the statewide and national digitization initiatives of the State of Florida and of the Digital Public Library of America. Breakout sessions will cover best practices, project planning, trends in digitization, and more.
Who should attend: Staff from libraries of all types, plus staff from historical & cultural heritage organizations.
Keynote speakers include:
- Robert Miller (Chief Executive Officer, LYRASIS)
- Emily Gore (Director for Content, Digital Public Library of America)
- Amy Johnson (Director, Division of Library & Information Services, Florida Department of State)
Program: The conference will provide an introduction to digitization for those new to the topic and also more advanced topics for those who want advanced level information about digitization. The full program now available.
