Have you ever thought about the actual process of making a decision? Yes? No? Maybe?? Realizing that there is indeed a process and understanding why it’s important will help you clarify your thoughts when you are struggling to make a decision. In this session, you’ll learn about the 7 steps to making effective decisions – and the benefits of including each one of those steps in your process. We’ll explore some proven decision-making techniques that will help us stay on track when we’re trying to sort through our options.
Next we’ll unpack the idea of creativity and risk-taking in the decision-making process. We’ll gain an understanding of why both are important and why you also need to understand the goal of your decision. After all, if you don’t know where you’re going, how will you know if you’ve arrived?
And here are some questions for you…What keeps you from making an effective decision? An emotional barrier? Something environmental? Cultural? Your barrier could be any one of a number of things – and sometimes more than one. Your barrier could be very different from mine – or your co-worker’s. Once we know the barriers, we are better equipped to handle them ~ and as we set ourselves free from those barriers, we naturally become better decision makers.
