Worldcat.org is OCLC’s public-facing Web portal to the WorldCat database. It is a discovery tool for library-owned materials worldwide and a social networking tool for libraries and their patrons. This course provides a brief introduction to the Worldcat.org platform and illustrates how libraries can help patrons derive maximum advantage from the service.
This webinar is intended for public services staff who are new to the Worldcat.org and who desire to know how it works so they can better instruct their patrons on how to use it. It is also intended for managers or technical services staff who need to know what to do “behind the scenes” so their library and their library’s patrons can take maximum advantage of the service.
