Resource Description and Access (RDA) is the new cataloging standard replacing the Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules, 2nd edition (AACR2). This webinar will cover the differences between AACR2 and RDA bibliographic records for electronic resources. Participants will gain a better understanding of new RDA fields for electronic resource records, as well as how to transcribe these fields. Plenty of examples will be provided.
Attendees will receive additional explanation of these standards, as well as plenty of examples and hands-on exercises.
Presenter: Karen Snow, Ph.D.
Dr. Karen Snow is an Assistant Professor in the Graduate School of Library & Information Science at Dominican University in River Forest, IL. She received her Ph.D. in Information Science in 2011 from the University of North Texas, where she taught cataloging courses primarily online from 2006 until 2011 for the Department of Library & Information Sciences. She previously worked as a cataloger in the Rare Book Room, University Archives, and the Technical Services departments at the University of North Texas. She currently teaches beginning and advanced cataloging courses at Dominican University, both face-to-face and online.
