Would you like to sharpen your readers’ advisory skills? Do you feel lost when a patron asks you for a “good book?” Come take this hands-on workshop and learn some practical applications, review communication skills and discern the differences between a reference interview and a readers’ advisory interview.
After this class, students will be able to:
- Utilize book reviews for readers’ advisory
- Learn about the new frontier, nonfiction readers’ advisory
- Take home a list of online resources
Students are welcome to bring their own laptops to the class.
Staff from Florida libraries may register for this workshop at no charge. Priority will be given to SEFLIN members. Non-members will be placed on a waiting list and added as space permits after the registration deadline.
