Senior citizens are one of the most loyal demographics when it comes to brick and mortar library usage. Libraries are often the first place they think of when they need a helping hand with the difficulties of current technology. Meeting their instructional needs can be challenging. Join us for this webinar as we discuss how to meet the needs of our “Seniors” including: best practices for instruction, recommended resources for continued learning, focusing attention on their online privacy and security and hardware considerations.
Jackie Papke is a former librarian and degreed teacher with a passion for “people + information + technology.” Teaching technology allows her to connect all three at once. While in her former position as a Reference Librarian and Webmaster for the Northwest Regional Library System, Jackie co-wrote the first Social Media Policy for the system, managed the Bay County Public Library Facebook Page (proudly doubling the fans!), and taught both peers and patrons. Jackie left the public library in May 2012 to launch Eye4Insight, her own Independent Research and Technology Instruction Company. Jackie holds a Master’s degree in Library & Information Studies with a concentration in Technology Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
