Status Discarded: The Who, What, When, Where and How of Weeding (SEFLIN)

In this two-hour live online class, students will be introduced to the world of weeding. We’ll discuss weeding criteria and then take a look at the options for weeded material and workflow. This class invites class discussion and participation from students.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of class students will be able to:

  • Understand what de-selection is and why we discard materials
  • Become familiar with some of the different terms, techniques and methods out there to aid with de-selection
  • Become familiar with the options for removing discarded materials from your library
  • Learn about the resources to help with discarded material.

Staff from Florida libraries may register for this workshop at no charge. Priority will be given to SEFLIN members. Non-members will be placed on a waiting list and added as space permits after the registration deadline.
