The Library Volunteer series includes three one-hour webinars on recruiting, managing and retaining volunteers.
Part 2: Managing Volunteers in the Library
Your library recruited a new group of excited and motivated volunteers!!! Now, the next part of the journey begins…effective management. Do we treat them the same as staff members, or a little bit different? And, how exactly do we manage them….after all, they aren’t being paid?
This webinar answers those questions and looks at four critical areas in volunteer management:
1. Orientation and Training of volunteers (It’s NOT optional)
2. Building relationships with volunteers (We want them to be happy, right?)
3. Evaluating volunteers and volunteers evaluating us (It works both ways)
4. Assigning the “right” people to manage the volunteers (A decision to be taken quite seriously)
Andrew has been developing and conducting training seminars for libraries and library organizations for more than ten years. He has presented Web-based, On-line, and Face-to-Face sessions on Management and Leadership, Customer Service and Communication Skills in the U.S. and numerous countries around the world. He is the founder of the PCI Webinars.
Staff from Florida libraries may register for this workshop at no charge. Priority will be given to SEFLIN members. Non-members will be placed on a waiting list and added as space permits after the registration deadline.
