Whether you have the title or not, many library professionals are taking on additional duties that require them to manage and lead others. As duties and responsibilities change, the need to learn and master new skills becomes even more important for their success.
Change is all around us today. Technology evolves and changes. We change the look of our buildings and of our personnel. We change our policies and procedures. And many times, change is “dumped” on us, where we have little if any input into the implementation and effects of the change on our library, staff and patrons.
The good news is…change can be effectively managed. This webinar explores the processes and techniques that can be used to make the most of change…or at least to minimize the resistance to it.
Participants will learn and begin to master:
- To see change as an opportunity for self-motivation and innovation
- To identify strategies for helping change to be accepted and implemented in the workplace
- The reasons why people resist changes in the workplace, including the four stages of coping with change
- The seven steps to becoming a change leader in the organization
This webinar will be delivered via SEFLIN Connect. Log-in information will be emailed approximately one week before the course.
Staff from Florida libraries may register for this workshop at no charge. Priority will be given to SEFLIN members. Non-members will be placed on a waiting list and added as space permits after the registration deadline.
