Do you know that for more than three years now, YouTube has surpassed Yahoo as the number two ranked search engine? Video is an essential and frequently preferred method for people to find and absorb information on their laptop computers, tablet PCs, and Web-connected smart phones. This workshop primarily addresses YouTube, with explanations ranging from creating a video channel, what types of video tools should be used for different situations, and how to setup, shoot, and upload your own videos and screencasts.
It will also look at how libraries are using YouTube, and several of its competing video sites (including Flickr video), to seize opportunities for reaching different audiences, attempting to create viral buzz, or attracting top placement in search engines. “Lights! Camera! Action!”
